After keeping parrots for years wayne decided to turn to budgerigars around 1996/1997.
Following some advice whilst picking up show cages from Basil Thomas, Wayne visited Frank Silva where he purchased his first three pairs of budgerigars , a few more visits followed soon after and wayne had the foundations of his stud in place .

Wayne suffered from asthma and without the mask wouldn’t of been able to care for and enjoy the birds that ho loved so much.

Wayne was A valuable member of the heads of the valleys budgerigar society for many years .He is sorely missed at the meetings and shows, but fondly remembered by all that knew him

He thought that his biggest achievement was winning best in show at the welsh B.S. show at Barry with a young grey, this was around the year 2000 whilst still a first year novice.

Wayne’s bird room was actually a converted garage and although he had 28 breeding cages only about 20 of these were usually used, along with these he had a very large walk in flight and two large stock cages for the youngsters

Most of Wayne’s stock was based on the bloodlines of Roger & Kathy Long who he visited many times and they became good friends . The quality of the birds that Wayne consistantly presented at the shows is testament to how successful this relationship was.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wayne had a limitless wealth of budgerigar knowledge which he was always more than willing to share,he loved nothing more than talking budgies. His advice and help has sent many a newcomer on the right road and many members openly admit that there successes is largely due to Wayne’s guidance
